When a Minnesotan asks a chatbot about Minnesota, part of the answer is already built from MinnPost's reporting — and MinnPost gets no reader, no credit, no dollar. This is the other way: the same machine, reading what MinnPost owns, answering with MinnPost's name on it. The prototype answers from hand-verified public records; the funded version answers from nineteen years of the archive — with the story attached, and a person behind it who answers what the machine can't.

• It never guesses. When it doesn't know, it says so — and a journalist sees the question.
• It stores no phone numbers and no identity of any kind. Words only, never who said them.
• It answers in Spanish today; Somali and Hmong greet and point to official sources until human reviewers make full service safe.
• It doesn't have a real name yet — on purpose. Minnesota named 52 snowplows and its flag by public contest. Minnesota names this too.
